Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the BMC's Revised Building Approval Manual which is slated to give boost to real estate sector as it will encourage affordable housing and would lead to faster completion of projects. Building Approval manual prepared by BMC has some landmark decisions to its credit like permissions required for commencing realty work has been reduced from 119 to 58 and building permissions to be granted within 60 days.
The function was held at Sahyadri Guest House on January 2, 2016 amidst presence of Hon'ble Housing, Mining & Labour Minister Shri Prakash Mehta, Hon'ble Minister for Education, Sports, Youth Welfare & Cultural Affairs Shri Vinod Tawde, Hon'ble Mayor Smt. Snehal Ambekar, Shri Swadheen Kshatirya, I.A.S., Chief Secretary, Govt. of Maharahstra and Shri Ajoy Mehta, I.A.S. MCGM Commissioner.
Speaking on the occasion of release of Manual, Hon'ble Chief Minster said, Reducing the number of permissions, simplifying the procedure and setting a 60-day deadline will surely help in providing more affordable housing.The new measures would also cut down the time required for the permissions to about 60 days from current 365 days. This would help bring down property prices and in turn benefit the people.“
