Mumbai's Fire Brigade's impressive Annual Fire Drill

 

“Like our brave soldiers who guard our country's borders, Mumbai's fire-fighters fight incidents of fire in Mumbai whenever and wherever it happens, with their full might and zeal” , says Mumbai's Mayor Smt. Snehal Ambekar who was speaking at the Annual Fire Drill Competition held at Byculla Head-quarters on December 28, 2015. Here the fire brigade performed before Mumbai Mayor, Smt. Ambekar, MCGM Commissioner Shri Ajoy Mehta, IAS and Mr. John Devlin who was Special guest on the occasion.
Mumbai Fire Brigade is one such organization which consistently fights man made as well as natural disasters and makes Mumbaikar's life safer. Smt. Ambekar adds, “There has been a rise in the fire incidents in the city, due to which Mumbai Fire Brigade has to be always on their toes to fight them. On this back-drop acquisition of fire-fighter robot can be of immense help for the fire fighters.”
Speaking on the occasion Shri Mehta said, “We want to strengthen Fire Brigade Department with latest technology like acquisition of robot. We have seen the demonstration of the Robot and decision about the procurement will be taken later.” The robot can be used in desperate situations where there is a threat to fire fighters or in incidents like radiation, emission of poisonous gas etc.
During the annual fire drill competition a model robot ‘Samar' was also presented which apart from being used in the case of fire, also be useful during fire attacks.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Mukesh Patel said, “To build good quality buildings, all round security is also an important aspect. CREDAI-MCHI and Fire Department have been organizing workshops in the past which are of immense help to make Mumbai safer city. We are happy to note that our fire soldiers are playing their role efficiently. We salute the spirit of those fire officers who lost their lives performing their duty. MCHI - CREDAI is always with you in all your endeavors.”
MCHI - CREDAI felicitated family members of Fire Officers Late Shri / s Sunil Nesrikar, Sanjay Rane, Mahendra Desai and Shri Sudhir Amin who lost their lives in Kalbadevi fire last year. As a unique gesture “Certificates in recognition of exemplary zeal” shown by them while performing their duty were also given to them by MCHI - CREDAI.
