Update on SGNP: Eco Sensitive Zone Notification

Shri S. S. Hussain, CEO is in co-ordination with Secretary (Forest) to get the updates on this issue and Shri Avadhoot Rane, General Manager is in touch with Shri Arvind Apte, OSD for Forest Department to get the updates.

Shri Dharmesh Jain, President informed the Managing Committee that he had a fruitful meeting with Forest Secretary, Shri Vikas Kharge (IAS). In this meeting the following points were discussed.

1. Forest Secretary informed the delegation that within a span of 2 months, MoEF will finalize and issue the SGNP notification.
2. About Waiver of Deposit of 2% for projects, processed individually which are within 10 km of SGNP & out of proposed ESZ, he replied that State Government does not have the power to plead this stand to the Central Government. Shri Dharmesh Jain, President said he will study the legal parameters for the same and come back with this feedback.

Shri Dharmesh Jain, President requested Shri Shailesh Puranik, Invitee Member to come back with a plan from Thane.  He requested the Secretariat to circulate the notifications to the members and ask their feedback and suggestions and resubmit the same to Principal Secretary, Forest.
