CREDAI-MCHI ushers in #NEWERA

 

Mayur Shah, our NEW PRESIDENT, announced new TEAM at Change of Guard and takes the reins forward with focus on CSR initiatives ‘Clean Mumbai, Green Mumbai and Skilled Mumbai’

 

Mr. Dharmesh Jain handed over the baton to the newly elected President, Mr. Mayur Shah amidst presence of luminaries from across Banking & Finance, Legal and Government – Mr. Gautam Chatterjee, Chairman, MahaRERA, Mr. U.P.S. Madan, Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, Mr. Ajoy Mehta, Municipal Commissioner of MCGM, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Additional Municipal Commissioner (projects) of MCGM and Mr. Ramesh Pawar, DMC TO MC OF MCGM amongst others. The grand ceremony was held on July 21, 2017, at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.

 

The ceremony unveiled the flag of CREDAI-MCHI alongside its “Vision Manifesto” outlining the key objective for the need of 'Ease of Doing Business”. The focus of the new President Mr.  Mayur Shah, CREDAI-MCHI would include rationalizing processes by ensuring better timelines to get approvals on projects, improve business viability given the high land costs, build capabilities for delivery of projects in parallel to CLEAN, GREEN and SKILLED Mumbai.

 

As a part of the major goal for Vision 2022, the Managing Committee members: Shri Nayan Shah, IPP Dharmesh Jain, President, Elect, Vice Presidents Shri Deepak Goradia, Shri Boman Irani, Shri Harish Patel, Shri Nainesh Shah, Secretary Shri Domnic Romell, Treasurer Shri Sukhraj Nahar and many others inclusive of other present member developers were seen taking oath towards Vision 2022 for creating CLEAN MUMBAI by aiming 10 lakh Kgs of garbage management at buildings society level , GREEN MUMBAI by planting 1 lakh trees across 1000 upcoming projects and attain SKILLED MUMBAI by training 1 lakh labourers at construction sites across Mumbai MMR.

 

The key highlight of the ceremony was also the felicitation of real heroes of Mumbai who have contributed towards the betterment of the city – Mr. Subhajit Mukherjee of LETS GREEN FOUNDATION, Mr. Afroz Shah for taking on VERSOVA BEACH CLEAN UP and Mr.  Percy Chowdhry from RAGC for his contribution towards skill development. As an industry body CREDAI-MCHI in the next two years will work towards fulfilling the housing needs & infrastructure development of Mumbai & MMR. The vision will be to facilitate and connect over 1800 developers across MMR for overall growth and development.

 

Shri Ajoy Mehta, IAS, MCGM Commissioner, said "In 2015, when the new government had come into action, Mr. Dharmesh Jain took charge and ensured the beginning of EASE OF DOING BUSINESS however now in 2017, with RERA coming in as a challenge and an opportunity, we are looking forward to Mr. Mayur Shah's tenure with huge expectations and we will ensure full support from our Government.”

 

Speaking at the event, Shri Mayur Shah, President of CREDAI-MCHI said, “We are hopeful to convert challenges into opportunities that are impacting the real-estate industry. The main focus during my tenure would be to improve business viability in MMR by rationalization of taxes, premiums, achieve further ease of doing business aiming towards online approvals, building capabilities for quicker delivery of projects by members through continuous learnings about the best practices and prepare members for future changes like RERA, GST and DCR rules.”

 

Initiatives for the year

  1. CLEAN Mumbai: Efficient waste management system aiming zero garbage to dustbins
  2. GREEN Mumbai: Ensure usage of Solar & Wind energy, with rain harvesting & recycling
  3. SKILLED Mumbai: Raise the employability quotient of workers in partnership with NSDC

 

Mr. Dharmesh Jain, Immediate Past President, CREDAI-MCHI said, “CREDAI-MCHI has emerged as a formidable body of developers with more than 1800 members, responsible for 80% of the organized development in Mumbai & MMR. Over the past two years, our engagement with the Government of Maharashtra has grown substantially and we have been a part of many important decisions taken in favour of real-estate industry. During the implementation of RERA, we extended our full support to the Government, which is aimed at bringing positive results for the real estate sector.”

 

Mr. Nainesh Shah elaborately outlined the tenure of Dharmesh ji, which witnessed many landmark decisions coming through; Shri Dharmesh Jain described his tenure as challenging and acknowledged the great support provided by entire Managing Committee and Team MCHI to accomplish it all. 

 

Mr. Mayur Shah unveiled the New Manifesto along with his new team on stage - the Vision 2022 going forward in which he presented the Blue-Print of activities for CREDAI-MCHI and revealed the priority areas.                      

 

The Change of Guard ceremony witnessed Women’s Wing Members presence in full-force with Mrs. Sonal Shah making a presentation outlining the accomplishments of the Women’s Wing.
Names of new Committee Members were also announced.

 

Shri Jaxay Shah, President, CREDAI – NATIONAL in his address said, “If we need to project Indian real estate industry abroad,  we at CREDAI – MCHI need to be at par with any international city as it is the barometer of the real estate industry in India. Now real estate industry is set to witness renaissance on Indian territory with Government writing the newscript of social reforms. Soon we are set to witness a revolution in housing segment…

…We are not only builders but nation builders!

 

Mr. U.P.S. Madan, I.A.S., Metropolitan Commissioner unveiled Mumbai of our Dreams, who is shouldering the responsibility of major infrastructure projects in the region. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Madan said, “Infrastructure is the spine of any city and no city can grow unless it has adequate infrastructure.”

 

He made very insightful presentation highlighting upcoming Infrastructure projects in MMR region with particular emphasis on: Metro Rail Line, Model Maritime Corridor and Mumbai Trans harbour Link.

 

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, I.A.S. Addl. Municipal Commissioner made presentation on Coastal Road in Mumbai, which is set to course of travel in Mumbai

 

The evening concluded with Vote of Thanks by Shri Nayan Shah, President – Elect.

All in all, it was an evening to be remembered forever!
