Liaison
Government Liaison is an important department of CREDAI-MCHI which manages the passage of communication and information from Government organization’s back to our secretariat. It is relevant to coordinate a positive response, follow up and sign off with a successful solution. CREDAI-MCHI also deals with some related Government Departments in Mantralaya, (Government of Maharashtra Head Quarters), Urban Local Bodies (MCGM, TMC, NMMC, MVC etc), and other statutory bodies and special Planning Authority like MHADA, SRA, CIDCO, MMRDA etc. Also this organization deals with Central Government’s Ministries (PMO, MoEF, Civil Aviation, Housing, Urban Development, Home Affairs etc.)
We take up important issues which are relevant to our builder’s fraternity in policy making and their execution.
CREDAI-MCHI, an apex body of real estate developers in the Mumbai Metropolitan region plays a pivotal role in the real estate sector by actively engaging with various government agencies for policy advocacy and reforms for the betterment of home buyers and the real estate sector. We are dedicated to fostering a constructive dialogue between real estate developers and various governmental authorities. We regularly engage with key government officials, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to address industry concerns and promote policies conducive to sustainable growth. We regularly interact with central and state government officials as well as the urban local bodies and various other government agencies. This liaison management helps in reforming the policies that impact the real estate sector as well as reaching out to the government authorities as the voice of the real estate fraternity of Mumbai Metropolitan region.
Key Activities and Engagements:
1. Policy Advocacy:
Policy Formulation: CREDAI-MCHI works closely with various government authorities to ensure compliance with regulation and creation and amendment of policies that impact the real estate sector. Our involvement ensures that the interests and concerns of real estate developers are taken into account. CREDAI-MCHI played a crucial role in optimizing & reforming the Development Control and Promotion Regulations (DCPR) 2034, which sets the framework for urban planning and development in Mumbai. And also contributes to the amendments in the various regulations, which standardizes and simplifies real estate development regulations across the state of Maharashtra.
MahaRERA: CREDAI-MCHI was actively involved in the drafting and suggesting amendments of the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) guidelines, ensuring transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. CREDAI-MCHI has been granted status of Self-Regulatory Organization for promoters, whose projects are registered with MahaRERA. It is also part of the Conciliation Forum of MahaRERA, where the conciliators nominated on behalf of the chamber help in the amicable resolution of the cases/grievances filed before the MahaRERA Conciliation Forum. The representative on behalf of CREDAI-MCHI provides assistance in the smooth registration of projects and monitors that the developers adhere to the compliances put in place by MahaRERA.
New Housing Policy: CREDAI-MCHI was invited by the Government of Maharashtra to nominate its representative/s to be part of the committee for drafting of new housing policies that aim to address the housing needs of the population while also supporting the real estate sector’s growth.
CREDAI-MCHI was also invited to nominate its representative in the formation of committee to resolve the issues and difficulties being faced by the real estate developers in Navi Mumbai region and accordingly our representative is the part of the said committee.
Slum Development Schemes: The chamber advocates for schemes and policies that facilitate the development and rehabilitation of slum areas, contributing to urban renewal and better living conditions.
MHADA: CREDAI-MCHI also has been involved by MHADA Authority in the various schemes undertaken by MHADA and for its policy framing.
2. Representations to the Government Officials:
The chamber frequently conducts meetings with Hon’ble Ministers, IAS Officers, and other government officials from various authorities at the state and central government levels, as well as Special Planning Authorities. These interactions are aimed at discussing and resolving issues faced by the real estate sector and promoting growth and development.
Through these meetings, CREDAI-MCHI advocates for regulatory changes and policies that support the interests of real estate developers. This includes pushing for faster approvals, streamlined processes, and other measures that facilitate smoother operations in the sector.
Approval and Compliance Facilitation:
CREDAI-MCHI assists its members in navigating the complex approval processes required for real estate projects. By liaising with government bodies and help in expediting approvals and ensure that projects comply with all necessary regulations. The chamber also ensures that its members are well-informed about regulatory requirements and changes, helping them stay compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Through its proactive engagement with government authorities, CREDAI-MCHI ensures that the real estate sector’s voice is heard in policy-making processes, thereby fostering an environment conducive to growth and development.
