MHADA REDEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE AND INVESTMENT MEET on April 28, 2025 at MIG Club, Bandra (E), Mumbai

The conference marked a significant milestone in fostering public-private collaboration to achieve the ambitious target of 8 lakh homes across MMR, with a focus on affordable housing for EWS to MIG categories. We commend MHADA’s proactive measures, including the utilization of 2.5 FSI provisions and the acceleration of redevelopment projects at Motilal Nagar, GTB Nagar, Sindhi Society, and PMGP Jogeshwari, as well as the seven cluster redevelopment projects in Prabhadevi. These initiatives exemplify MHADA’s commitment to addressing Mumbai’s housing demands while ensuring sustainable urban growth.

Equally noteworthy is your transformative digital governance agenda, including the historic decision to make 15 crore documents publicly accessible, the inauguration of the Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC), and the implementation of the Visitor Management System (VMS) and Office Navigator. By reducing dependency on RTI applications and prioritizing transparency, MHADA is setting a new benchmark for citizen-centric administration. The 100-day action plan aligned with the state government’s directives, along with the focus on online grievance redressal and Janata Darbars, reflects an unwavering commitment to “Ease of Living” for all citizens.

CREDAI-MCHI is particularly encouraged by the progress in the Girni Kamgar housing scheme, the upcoming key distribution ceremonies in Naigaon, Worli, and Ghodapdeo, and the promising developments in the Konkan Board with 3,000 near-ready houses and 7,000 more planned. The proposed rental housing initiatives for senior citizens, women, and students further demonstrate MHADA’s inclusive approach.
