Meeting with CEO, SRA Shri Mahendra Kalyankar

A meeting was held on 17th March 2026 at 4:00 PM with Shri Mahendra Kalyankar, CEO of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority, to discuss key pending issues in the construction sector related to SRA projects.

The meeting was attended by Shri Rushi Mehta, Shri Ricardo Romell, Shri Dhaval Ajmera, Shri Gurminder Singh, Shri Yusuf Patel, and Shri Devesh Mittal, along with senior SRA officials.

The discussion focused on addressing challenges faced by developers, expediting approvals, and resolving long-pending issues impacting project execution. The interaction was productive, with a shared commitment towards improving coordination and ensuring smoother implementation of SRA schemes.

CREDAI-MCHI remains committed to actively taking up industry concerns and working closely with the authorities for the overall growth and efficiency of the sector.

A joint delegation of CREDAI-MCHI, including Shri Dominic Romell, Shri Jitendra Mehta, Shri Shailesh Puranik, Shri Dhaval Ajmera, Shri Ricardo Romell, Shri Tejas, and Shri Keval Valambhia, met Shri Chandrakant Bawankule, Hon’ble Minister for Revenue, on 17th March 2026.

The meeting was highly productive, with key concerns regarding royalty matters and NA (Non-Agricultural) issues being strongly represented. The Hon’ble Minister took serious note of challenges related to royalty permissions, their limited validity, and associated notices, and has directed a joint meeting with MMR collectors to arrive at a practical resolution.

Further, implementation gaps at ULB levels despite the abolition of NA permissions were highlighted. The Minister has instructed his department to undertake necessary awareness and enforcement measures to ensure smooth implementation.

We are encouraged by the positive response and proactive approach of the Hon’ble Minister. CREDAI-MCHI remains committed to working closely with the Government for the betterment of the sector.

Meeting with Shri Sanjay Mukherjee - MMRDA Commissioner

CREDAI-MCHI had a very positive meeting with Sanjay Mukherjee, Commissioner of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, on 18th March 2026, along with our Hon. Secretary, Rushi Mehta.

During the meeting, we proposed convening a Joint Task Force to collectively address key MMR-related issues. The Commissioner welcomed the proposal and assured that a joint meeting will be scheduled soon.

Shri Sharad Ughade, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Public Health)

A meeting was held on 25th March 2026 with Shri Sharad Ughade, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Public Health) to discuss the implementation of volunteer participation initiatives at construction sites across Mumbai for the prevention of malaria and dengue. The meeting was also attended by the Executive Health Officer and the Insecticide Officer.

The discussion focused on strengthening preventive measures at building sites and encouraging active participation to improve on-ground health practices. Key concerns, including One Time Charges and authority-specific issues, were also taken up for discussion.

The interaction was constructive, and CREDAI-MCHI remains committed to supporting public health initiatives while addressing industry concerns through continued engagement with the authorities.

Felicitation ceremony - Nahar Panorama

CREDAI-MCHI, hosted a special felicitation ceremony on March 24, 2026 to honour the ascension of Hon’ble Mayor of Mumbai, Smt. Ritu Tawde, and Advocate General for state of Maharashtra, Senior Advocate Dr. Milind Sathe to their respective posts.

Recognising the critical role these offices play in shaping Mumbai’s urban and real estate landscape, the event celebrated their leadership and reaffirmed CREDAI-MCHI’s commitment to working closely with both offices to support the city’s planned and sustainable development.

Held at my residence, Nahar Panorama, Walkeshwar, Malabar Hill, the evening brought together senior bureaucrats like Shri Bhushan Gagrani (IAS) – Commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC); Smt. Jayshree Bhoj (IAS) – Secretary, Department of Environment & Climate Change and Smt. Nidhi Chaudhary (IAS) – Director, National Gallery of Modern Arts (NGMA) Mumbai, legal stalwarts like Shri Birendra Saraf, Former Advocate General of Maharashtra, Adv. Dhaval Wasoonji, Adv. Dhaval Mehta, Adv. Parimal Shroff, and Adv. Shailesh Vaidya among others and prominent industry leaders, including Shri Anuj Puri – Chairman and Founder of ANAROCK; Architect Shri Hafeez Contractor; and Ms. Manju Yagnik – Vice Chairperson, Nahar Group and Senior Vice President, NAREDCO.

CREDAI-MCHI’s leadership was strongly represented by Shri Bandish Ajmera – President-Elect; Shri Rushi Mehta – Hon. Secretary; along with past presidents Shri Dominic Romell, Shri Boman Irani, Shri Deepak Goradia, Shri Mayur Shah, Shri Nayan Shah, Shri Mofaraj Munot, Shri Rajnikant Ajmera, and Shri Jayesh Shah (Mentor & Senior Member). Also present were Vice Presidents Shri Dhaval Ajmera, Shri Sunny Bijlani, Shri Gurminder Singh Seera and Dr. Adv. Harshul Savla, Joint Secretary, Shri Samyag Shah – Convenor, Youth Wing; and Ms. Alka Doshi – Chairperson, Women’s Wing, along with members of the Managing Committee and key stakeholders from across the sector.

The evening served as a meaningful forum for engagement, highlighting the importance of collaboration between government and industry in building a progressive, transparent, and well-regulated urban ecosystem.
