Workshop Held with Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), Vice President & CEO, MHADA, on December 10, 2024, Regarding Initiatives to Boost Redevelopment in Mumbai City & Suburban Region
A workshop was held on December 10, 2024, with Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), Vice President & CEO of MHADA, to discuss the initiatives aimed at boosting redevelopment in the Mumbai City and Suburban regions.
To promote housing development in the state of Maharashtra, MHADA has decided to bring developers together on a common platform. A presentation was made by Ricardo Romell, Committee Member, outlining the key requirements from MHADA.
Shri Milind Shambharkar (IAS), Chief Officer, M.B.R. & R. Board Mumbai, and Shri Wankhede from MHADA also presented on the various initiatives being taken to simplify the development process. MHADA’s goal is to provide 8 lakh homes through these efforts.

Meetings Held with Key Officials Regarding Challenges Faced by Developers Due to CFO Policies and Practices
A series of meetings were held with prominent officials to address the issues and challenges faced by developers due to the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) policies and practices.
- On December 9th and 10th, 2024, discussions took place with Shri Prashant Gaikwad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Finance, BMC.
- On December 16th and 20th, 2024, meetings were conducted with Shri Ravindra Ambulgekar, Chief Fire Officer, Mumbai.
These meetings focused on exploring the concerns raised by developers regarding the impact of CFO policies on their projects and finding potential solutions to streamline and improve the process.

Meeting with the CEO of SRA, Shri Mahendra Kalyankar (IAS) on December 10, 2024
A meeting was held on December 10, 2024, with Shri Mahendra Kalyankar, IAS, CEO of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), to discuss the concerns raised in our letter dated December 5, 2024. The letter addressed a request to reconsider the application of the 5% charges for changes in the constitution of the developer’s Partnership Firm, LLP, Joint Venture, Private Ltd. Company, or Public Ltd. Company in ongoing Slum Rehabilitation (S.R.) schemes on private plots, as outlined in Appendix-IV of Regulation 33(10) of the Development Control Regulations (DCR)-1991.
The meeting saw a healthy and constructive discussion on the matter, and Shri Kalyankar assured that clarification on the issue would be provided in due course.

Meeting Held with Shri Santosh Warick, Hon. Director, Maharashtra Fire Services on
On December 11, 2024, a meeting was held between representatives from the development and construction sectors and Shri Santosh Warick, the Hon. Director of Maharashtra Fire Services. The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the challenges faced by developers due to the current policies and practices related to the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) guidelines and the fire safety approval process.

Meeting Held with Milind Shambharkar (IAS), Chief Officer, M.B.R. & R. Board Mumbai on December 27, 2024
Meeting was held between Developers Associations and Milind Shambharkar, the Chief Officer of the M.B.R. & R. (Maharashtra Building Repairs and Reconstruction) Board, Mumbai, to discuss the development and implementation of an online module for the revalidation process of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
